links for a guest lecture on my work

Did I mention before that I put together and taught a course this past summer called "The Music of New York"? If not, I should blog about that sometime.

Soweto Gospel Grammy

Congratulations to the Soweto Gospel Choir for winning the grammy for Best Traditional World Music Album! You guys are great. They are also due to perform at Carnegie Hall on the 23rd of this month.

Quick question: Can someone explain to me the difference between the "Traditional World Music" category, and the "Contemporary World Music" category, and why the Soweto Gospel Choir were under the former, and Ladysmith Black Mambazo were under the latter?
