ArtsJournal Forum: A Better Case for the Arts? this is exactly the sort of public conversation that blogging can facilitate. One of the comments my supervisor made on the draft of my paper of blogging music scholarship, was that I will need evidence to back up my assertion that the public is more intelligent than we, within the academy, give them credit for.
